Tax credit extension
Hot off the presses from the Maine Association of Realtors...
"CONGRESS PASSES TAX CREDIT CLOSING DATE AND NFIP EXTENSIONS: A few minutes ago, the US Senate voted unanimously to extend the tax credit closing date and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to September 30. From NAR: "After a close brush with the deadline, Congress has passed an extension of the Homebuyer Tax Credit closing deadline, the Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act (H.R. 5623). The extension applies only to transactions that have ratified contracts in place as of April 30, 2010 that have not yet closed. The legislation is designed to create a seamless extension - the new closing deadline for eligible transactions is now September 30, 2010. There is will be no gap between June 30 and the date the President signs the bill into law. Additionally, the Senate has passed an extension of the National Flood Insurance Program until September 30, 2010. This will allow transactions to move forward. The bill is retroactive and covers the lapse period from June 1, 2010 to the date of enactment of the extension."
Good news for those buyers and sellers who had their closings delayed! I heard anecdotally that it helps 180,000 deals in the US.

Some Recent Testimonials
What past clients have said about us.
"Hannah has been the most approachable agent we've ever met; she is accessible 7 days a week. We will definitely be recommending her to our buyer/seller friends in the future!" Jen Daigle and Andrew Susen, Portland (apsusen@gmail.com)
“Thank you, Diane, from the bottom of our hearts for all you did for us in the sale of our home. You were very attentive to the needs of the sale. Everything went so smoothly. Thank you. We already have and will be glad to recommend you to anyone who needs a realtor.” Gordon and Sandra Gamage, Scarborough (gwsjgamage@gmail.com)
“I wanted to thank you so much for all of your hard work. It paid off because I am so happy! I love my new house, I don't think we could have found anything more perfect and it truly feels like a home with all of my things in there.” Nicole Lane, Casco (pawsitvegrl@yahoo.com)
“If it was not for Hannah, we would not have closed on this property. The sellers had a second buyer lined up for closing if we didn’t have the clear to close – but she kept on our bank to make it happen. Her whole team backed her. We are thrilled with the property!” Cathy and Craig Keefe Phillips, Bridgton
“Diane Wescott stepped in while my initial realtor was on vacation. We met on my second visit to the house I ended up buying about six weeks later. I thought, “Wow, she’s really with it!” Having taken a first-time homebuyers’ class, I had done my homework but every time I had a question—no matter how small or out-of-the-blue, Diane researched the topic and got back to me very quickly. She is efficient but generous with her time; she listens well and offers sound advice. I enjoyed working with her throughout the entire process and she stayed with me, and continued to help me, even a few days after the closing. That’s rare. And…I love my new home.” Leah Stetson, Lakes Region, ME
“Diane Wescott is a fantastic agent! Diane was with us with every step of the process from making appointments, reviewing properties, to closing on the property we purchased. If we had a question, Diane would respond to our call or e-mail almost immediately and was there to answer any questions we may have had. Diane went out of her way to be there for us and we really appreciated all of her help and kindness. I would highly recommend Diane to anybody who is looking for a dedicated and ambitious agent. Thanks again!” Mary Parish and Gary Normand (IKruz2@yahoo.com)
